of foster care. We promise to give back to the
community through volunteer work and community
service. The board will remain strong youth
advocates. We will improve our own spirit and
body and mind. The board will act as a support

| History: |
Fremont
County has a Youth Advisory board, which consists
of 6 members. In October of 2001 a youth in
after care presented to Nancy Greenstreet-Gettler
the idea of formulating a Youth Advisory Board
as a conduit for youths voices. A formal board
was formed consisting of 5 youth, 2 of which
are in the aftercare program, 1 who had never
been in foster care, and 3 that are still in
foster care.
As a goal, the board undertook the education
of foster parents, community members and other
individuals and agencies involved in the system.
They chose as their venue for delivery psychodramas
and youth panel presentations. The Better Tomorrow
Team has written their own dramas drawn from
their personal experiences in the foster care
system. Their presentations have proven to be
insightful and enlightening by providing their
audience with a glimpse into foster care life.

The Better Tomorrow Team, now Better Tomorrow Team, INC., has been busy the past several months. We are now Incorporated as a non-profit and have filed paperwork with the Internal Revenue Service to be recoginzed as a 501c3! This has taken us several years to accomplish.
The Team presented at the Colorado State Child Welfare conference June 04 to professionals giving them some insight into the life of a youth in foster care from the youth's perspective.
July 21st the team leaves for Cleveland to present at the National Youth Summit (hope to see you there!) about their incorporation process and the hows and whys.
August 20th the team will be in Washington D.C. for the Destination Future Conference and this time as presenters on incorporation and the 501c3 process. It has taken our board time, hard work, and dedication to get to this point in our growth.
We have a new e-mail address now: BTT_INC@yahoo.com

We have just presented in front on Lola Spradley, our Speaker of the House, at a Foster Care Banquet we participate in each year to celebrate foster parents.
We have just put in a call for papers to speak at the Statewide Child Welfare Conference.
One of our members, currently attended The National Youth Summit in Washington D.C.. Where she brought back useful information, regarding getting involved in the community.

Becca N. presented at the State kick off for the National Foster Care Month. She gave a great speech comparing our Foster Parents to guardian angels. Also let them know many times youth forget to say thank you until many years later but they are thankful for all the foster parents that give of themselves. |
