Tennessee Youth Advisory Council

Location:	Nashville, Tennessee, Davidson County & the Mid-Cumberland region
Inspiration:	The Tennessee Youth Advisory Council is a group of “Experienced Youth Making Changes.” We are inspired by each other and our desire to make things better for the next generation.
Mission:	“We are a committed group of diverse and unified youth dedicated to making changes to improve the lives of youth and the foster care system.”
Meets:	One Saturday per month, 10:00-1:00. Subcommittees meet as needed.
Meets at:	TPS, 1200 Foster Ave., Nashville, TN 37210
Age Range:	15 - 24

Goals:	We hope to improve the lives of youth and also improve the system that delivers services to these youth. We want to make significant improvements in the following areas and have ranked our priorities as listed below: 1. Housing 2. Foster parent recruitment and retainment 3. Education 4. Employment and job training We plan to do this by offering youth: 1. The Opportunity Passport™ 2. Connections with caring adults 3. A voice in what happens to them and to other youth in the system
