Advocacy:
Step 2: Define Your Goals
Its not enough to just have a complaint. Envision what the
solution will look like when your problem is solved and perhaps
what steps you need taken to get you there. This is what you should
communicate to people who can help you. If you have a clear and
consistent message, others are more likely to want to help you.
When
defining your goal, its important to know the difference between
"wants" and "needs." When adults see that you
understand the difference between wants and needs, they are bound
to listen to you more seriously.
